Hi, I’m jenni kerns.

Hi! I’m Jenni and I’m a mama on a mission to help moms reclaim their energy, reset their health and finally make peace with eating through personalized nutrition, mindset and routines.

Why am I uniquely qualified to be your coach? Because I’ve been there. I went on my first “diet” in elementary school. I spent years battling my weight and literally owned everything from size 2 through 14 in my closet because my weight would bounce around so much. If I wasn’t on an extreme diet, I was going “off the rails” with junk food. I was constantly thinking about diets, and when I started getting more into “healthy eating plans”, while I might have been eating healthier foods, those dieting mindsets were still there. I would replace meals with coffee in an effort to “fast” and I was constantly worried if I was doing “the right plan” for me. And although I was achieving at work, my personal life was chaos. I was never anywhere on time, nothing was organized, and I kept letting important priorities shift to the next week. I would go through stages of being extremely clean to the house feeling like a mess- the inconsistency and ups and downs were in all parts of my life. I would burn myself out at work after working 80 hours a week and never prioritizing self care. I remember going back to my “it always works” extreme diet for my wedding and being in absolute tears because if anything, I was gaining weight. You always want to feel like your most beautiful self on your wedding day, but all I could see was my weight.

When I found out I was pregnant with my first baby- it was the first time since I can remember that my brain actually had a break from “trying to lose weight”. My focus was on growing my son and keeping him healthy, and it was INCREDIBLY freeing. But one year postpartum and I found that overactive brain back, googling “healthy eating plans while breastfeeding.” But that year, for the first time- I wrote down my goals and didn’t have a weight goal in mind. My 2021 planner says “I want to finally ditch that diet mentality” and “stop spending money on diet plans”. That year, I started following someone on Instagram who would change my life. I followed some of her tips, but I would still go back to my diets. I had constant brain fog and mood swings and I didn’t like how I was showing up as a mom.

Fast forward a year later to 2022. I was now diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis (an autoimmune disease that was likely catapulted from the years of stress I put on my body). I was crying on the floor, tired of feeling disorganized, moody and obsessing about diets. I wrote my goals in my planner “to balance my hormones and feel like myself again so I can be the best mom ever”. And divinely timed, the person I had followed on Instagram opened up a coaching program and I made the leap to sign up.

I started prioritizing myself and putting in the work to create small, sustainable changes. My coach helped me get to the root of what was causing the overwhelm, brain fog, mood swings and diet hopping- and it was through reframing my thought patterns, getting to the root of limited beliefs and learning new tools that helped me to get in touch with my own inner wisdom, that I started to change my life from chaotic to grounded and finally ditched the diet mentality.

My health journey inspired me to go back to school to receive my health coaching certification with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition because I wanted to reach other moms out there who are struggling with their health, diet anxiety or overwhelm. I can continue to learn all that I can in health, nutrition and growth mindset.

I’m now a year postpartum with my second little one. I have found the foods that work best for my body and have been losing weight and inflammation consistently. I feel more organized and on top of things. My moods are stable and one of the biggest rewards? The freedom that has come from living this intuitive life because it’s freed up so much mental space that helps me show up more fully as a mom, wife… and for myself.

I promise you, once you start to feel the peace that comes with a life of grounding, you’ll never want to go back. And I can’t wait to cheer you on as you discover your OWN version of a grounded life!

the FIVE FOUNDATIONS OF GROUNDING

DECLUTTER YOUR MIND

In order to start to connect to our internal wisdom, I’ve found that most of us really need to start with decluttering. Whether it’s your thoughts or the space around you, the extra noise that physical or emotional clutter carries can keep us in a constant state of chaos.

Align to your priorities

Once you’ve started to become more in tune with your inner wisdom, you will likely start to become more in tune with what YOU want. Do you find yourself creating your life around other people’s priorities? It’s time to start living your life for YOU. Take some time to get really clear about what your values and priorities are and then make space in your schedule to honor those priorities. This may take setting some uncomfortable boundaries at first, but once you start living life in this connected way, you’re life becomes so much more vibrant and beautiful.

reframe your thoughts

Our thoughts hold POWER. We are constantly telling ourselves stories, and we have the power to choose whether those stories are positive or hold us back. But just because we have the power, doesn’t make this easy. The stories we tell ourselves can come from limited beliefs that are weaved into our cultures or our homes of origin. They can come from trauma or anxiety. We may have past evidence of this thought or no evidence of all. But it is up to us to start the journey to reframe them. No one else can make that first step but you.

nourish your soul

Food is what nourishes our bodies. It’s so much more than a number. When we choose foods that keep us feeling energized and healthy, those foods in turn nourish our soul. It’s not about restriction, it’s about being intentional with how a food may or may not make us feel and consistently (not perfectly) choosing foods that make us feel our best, as often as we can.

connect to your intuition

Once you’ve started to clear out some of the clutter, it’s time to create space in your day to connect to your intuition. We are constantly bombarded by media consumption and other people’s opinions and as a result we can become disconnected to our own inner guidance. Creating a mindfulness practice is what allows us to start tuning in.
